Xavier Corbero's House
Just came across this post from Nowness on Xavier Corbero's house filmed last year. I'm just in complete awe. Over the course of 40 years, Xavier has rehabilitated nine industrial buildings, taking to hide as he calls it "their ugly bits".
He has such a wonderful way of describing the process of building his home:
So at first you actually believe it will become exactly what you have conceived -or rather, imagined- and then you must do whatever it takes to make it happen. Of course that's when surprises take shape, because you have imagined one percent of what happens in the end.
The labyrinthine structures mirror the meandering nature of one's mind, with 10 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and countless rooms and hallways making up 38,750 square feet. In this way Xavier's home not only mirrors his consciousness, but also the erratic nature of the creative process.
